Teaching Philosophy

The Mind/Body Practice I subscribe to embraces self awareness, acceptance, and personal empowerment. My hope for you is to have the best mental and physical experience possible each and every session. Each time we practice together, emphasis is placed upon seeking to find what our bodies and minds are willing to do. Each breath and movement encourages us to find a space where we are working somewhere between easy and challenging. For the care and safety of our bodies we use options and modifications as needed to find a place of success. Our mind/body practice is a continuous new beginning and whether you are a novice or seasoned practitioner my hope for you is to experience true mental, physical, spiritual balance.

about

Bio

Miranda Davis has joyfully taught dancers and fitness enthusiasts since 1993. From a very early age Miranda felt a strong connection to movement and a desire to educate others. Dancing was her first love and she was instructing by the age of 18. Her dance career includes working with the Texas Ballet Theatre, Gracey Tune with Arts 5th Ave, and various local theatres and dance troupes. She has performed and choreographed several award winning dance routines.

Miranda began Yoga and Pilates practice at the prompting of a friend in 1999. She suffered frequently from a chronic condition, IBS, which brought about bouts of stress and illness to her body. Willing to try a more holistic approach to healing she felt yoga would be a good fit. She was hooked after her first class. Today she is free of IBS and credits the Mind/Body/Meditative side along with her strong Faith in Jesus Christ to being instrumental in her healing, health, and well-being. The creation of PerfectFit is derived from scripture and Col 1:28. "We proclaim Him admonishing and teaching in all wisdom so we may present everyone perfect in Christ".

Miranda has been privileged to instruct and share Yoga/Pilates in over 45 US cities, Aruba, India, and Taiwan. Her teaching style is often described as "encouraging, inspiring, and fun". Miranda holds a degree in Exercise Physiology and is an E-RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. She has been featured on The Good Morning Texas Show, The NBC5 Morning Show, Healthcore’s fitness DVD for Pilates and Yoga, the Veria chanel’s "Labor of Love" as the fitness expert for pregnancy, Fort Worth Star Telegram as a fitness expert for nutrition, has modeled professionally for Yoga/Pilates fitness books and websites, and gives Health and Wellness seminars to various corporations . Miranda is founder of the annual Yoga for Charity event "YO HO HO", benefiting SafeHaven of Tarrant County. From 2002-2009 she enjoyed working for YogaFit Worldwide training systems as a Senior Master Trainer travelling and instructing internationally. Currently, she instructs for Texas Christian University with extended education, The Gladney Center of Adoption catering to the Birth Mothers and employees and PerfectFit studio in Ridglea West Fort Worth.
